Overview:

Perks' newly enhanced paid parental leave policy supports Team Members to feel empowered to thrive both personally and professionally. With increased leave for primary and secondary caregivers, this policy reflects our commitment to fostering a family-friendly workplace.

As part of our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace, Perks is proud to announce our newly enhanced parental leave policy. This policy is designed to give our Team Members the support they need during one of the most significant and rewarding times in their lives, reinforcing Perks’ dedication to work-life balance, family support, and long-term career development.

Key Benefits of the New Parental Leave Policy

Effective immediately, Perks updated parental leave policy provides:

  • 26 Weeks Paid Leave for Primary Caregivers: Team Members who are the primary caregivers of a child can now access up to 26 weeks of paid leave. This significant increase from our previous policy, which offered a maximum of 12 weeks, reflects our commitment to providing one of the most generous parental leave entitlements for an independent firm in the professional services industry.
  • 4 Weeks Paid Leave for Secondary Caregivers: To further support all parents, secondary caregivers are now entitled to 4 weeks of paid parental leave, an increase from the previous benefit of one week. This flexibility provides both parents with the opportunity to be present and involved in the early stages of their child’s life.

Why These Changes Matter

Perks CEO, James Black, emphasises the importance of this policy as a reflection of our values: “We believe in fostering a family-friendly workplace that values work-life balance and long-term career development and progression. This new policy is also an important investment in our people, ensuring that we can continue to attract and retain talented staff by fostering a positive and supportive environment where they feel empowered to thrive personally and professionally.”

Partnership with The Village Co.

In addition to the new leave entitlements, Perks has extended its existing partnership with The Village Co., a South Australian charity that reaches over 1,800 women each year by providing essential support to new and expecting mothers. For every Baby Hug Hamper we provide to new parents within our Team, The Village Co. donates a baby bag filled with essential items to help support new mums and babies. This partnership allows us to extend the impact of our parental support beyond our walls, contributing to the wellbeing of families across the community.

Since June 2023, Perks has proudly supported The Village Co. with both financial and in-kind assistance, with our Team Members actively involved in assembling and delivering care packs. This partnership aligns with our core values and commitment to social responsibility, making a real difference in the lives of families across South Australia.
