During his 20+ years at Perks the firm has grown from a simple accounting practice with 15 employees, to an integrated financial services business with over 150 team members. He is an expert at providing hands-on advice to private business owners in all aspects of their role. Mark’s insight, gained over this time, underpins the strength of his advice and ability to provide relevant and viable solutions to his business clients.
As well as the extensive experience that comes from advising a broad cross-section of businesses over this period, the firm has been Mark’s training ground for advising clients on the running of and growing a successful business. The Perks Group includes a financial planning and personal insurance business as well as a finance broking business.
Through his hands-on management of Perks, Mark is experienced in managing the challenges, issues and pressures confronted by SME owners. In particular, succession planning has been a major focus of Mark’s advice over the last 10 years as the “baby boomers” divest themselves of their businesses or pass them onto the next generation.
What Mark loves most about his job is dealing with his clients. He has a passion for helping them solve their problems and over-coming hurdles so they are able to achieve their financial and personal goals. He enjoys the challenge of dealing with difficult issues on behalf of clients, including tax issues, family business issues and broader strategic issues.
