Supporting our communities and causes that are close to our heart

At Perks, we have a long history of grassroots community involvement, giving, and fundraising since our humble beginnings in 1981. Our DNA is strongly rooted in supporting a vibrant and sustainable South Australian community through our work, our people, and our corporate citizenship.

Over the years our people have shown their support for many wonderful, local charities including:

Social Responsibility Vision

Our involvement has been driven by our deep desire to help great South Australian charities to “discover success.”

We believe that discovering success goes both ways, outwards by supporting the amazing work of the charities that we partner with, and inwards by helping us to develop ourselves and our Team to be compassionate, engaged, and empathy-driven leaders for South Australia.

Our corporate giving initiatives are led by our Perks Social Responsibility Committee, which is represented by a subset of Perks Directors. All Team Members have the opportunity to put forward causes that are close to their heart, with consideration based on their ability to meet the four categories below.

Our support efforts fall into four categories:

Financial – this is where we fundraise and donate much-needed financial support to bolster the sustainability of our selected SA partner charities.

Service – this is where we volunteer our time to help SA charities deliver on their mission; taking our Team Members off the tools and into the field to provide hands-on-deck.

Expertise – this is where we donate our expertise as business advisers through in-kind services, mentoring, and education to the SA charities we partner with.

Awareness – this is where we amplify the message and awareness of the charity and promote philanthropy to our audiences, encouraging participation and engagement amongst the wider community.

KickStart for Kids

Perks has been supporting KickStart for Kids since 2022. KickStart for Kids is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged school children. Through programs like the School Breakfast Program and Period Poverty Drive, Perks Team Members are able to support the work of KickStart for Kids to foster positive educational outcomes and boost children’s self-esteem.

The Village Co.

The Village Co. is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring that all new South Australian mothers, regardless of background or disadvantage, are embraced and supported as they begin the life-changing journey of motherhood. Perks Team Members support the organisation through packing and delivery days which provide new mums with the essential and practical items needed to care for newborns and themselves, in the perinatal period. These bags are then distributed to hospitals and services that specifically care for vulnerable and at-risk perinatal women.
