Simon Wotherspoon is the Head of Perks Private Wealth and sits on the Perks Group Board and Private Wealth Investment Committee. Simon brings a wealth of experience and diverse skills including a background in corporate sales and marketing, followed by a decade as Director of Wotherspoon Wealth where he steered his financial advisory practice to FPA Professional Practice of the year in 2018, ultimately merging with Perks in 2020.
As founding Director, Principal Adviser and Investment Committee Chair at Wotherspoon Wealth, Simon is deeply experienced in constructing and maintaining multi-asset class portfolios and developing tailored wealth management strategies for his clients. The cornerstone principles of transparency, honesty and accountability underpin his thriving client-adviser relationships.
Simon specialises in providing comprehensive financial advice services to self-funded retirees, successful business owners, professionals and those with aspirations for financial success and comfort in retirement. He has a demonstrated track-record of building lasting relationships by developing comprehensive strategies in close consultation with his clients. Once agreed, this is then implemented with carefully considered, individually crafted wealth management advice. In ongoing discussion, all advice is continually monitored, and strategies adapted to suit changing circumstances.
Simon’s career began with six years in sales and marketing at Colgate-Palmolive, managing corporate sales teams as they brought new products to market and grew the company’s market share. He then progressed into the Financial field, working as an Associate Adviser at WHK in Melbourne, while completing a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and a Graduate Certificate of Financial Planning.
In 2010, Simon returned to Adelaide and established Wotherspoon Wealth alongside his father, John. Managing the development and maintenance of multi-asset class investment models in consultation with the firm’s Investment Committee, Simon was also responsible for critical business functions – business development, staffing, marketing and overall strategy. He was Managing Director when the firm was named 2018 Professional Practice of the Year by the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
Simon joined Perks Private Wealth in May 2020 after merging with Wotherspoon Wealth and is committed to drive the next phase of the financial planning profession.
